The Metanetics IR 2000R Rugged Hand-held ImageReader is a reliable one stop solution to all of your bar code scanning needs. It has both an integrated optical system and a decoder board. The IR-2000 makes use of innovative state-of-the-art video-imaging technology and leading-edge software. Depending on the licensed features enabled, the IR-2000 will automatically discriminate between the major one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) stacked and matrix bar code symbologies. The one- and two-dimensional bar code symbologies include Codabar, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, I 2 of 5, UPC/EAN, DataMatrix, MaxiCode, and PDF417. Signature and facial capture, and other general image-capture functions may be enabled as well. In the factory default setting, the IR-2000 uses an RS-232 serial port for the communication interface. This enables the IR-2000 to be compatible for use with personal computers, as well as many portable data collection devices.
